The 2006 Harris/Edwardes competition consisted of nine teams from five clubs and was played at Legacy House on Monday nights. The preliminary rounds consisted of a 5 round swiss tournament to determine the teams to meet in the finals on the 4th December.

A Division Final

Huntingdale defeated Metro (2.0 – 2.0)

This match ran to the wire with Andrew Hardegen needing a win for his team.  With only a small amount of time on the clocks Andrew Kuklinski made an illegal move, giving 2 minutes to his opponent.  With only seconds available to each player Andrew Hardegen was able to obtain the win in a difficult Bishop versus Knight ending with mobile pawns on both sides.  A very fitting end to the tournament.



B Division Final

Perth lost to Fremantle (1.0 – 3.0)

Fremantle were able to utilize their underdog status having lost to Perth the previous week in the last preliminary round with the same colours.

The Perth team were able to win as they had done in the preliminary rounds against Huntingdale. This was the first finals match to finish.
