The Secondary Interschool competition was held last Sunday, at Legacy House in South Perth. Compared to the more than 50 teams who are competing in the Primary Interschool competition, the numbers were a distinct disappointment. We will have to find out why there continues to be so few entries, and make some adjustments to the conditions of the event, or else it’s future is in grave doubt. If anyone out there has any suggestions, please get in contact with me.
The one good result of the small turnout was that every member of every team received a prize, since we had medals for first and second in each of A, B and C Grades. It seemed sensible for all teams to play together in the one competition, with an appropriate adjustment to the entry fees due.
After a few rounds, the teams had split into three distinct pairs, fighting out the three grades. Seton Catholic College won every game to easily win the competition and Perth Modern School also had a pretty good result, winning every match except one.
I would like to thank Greg Hine for organising the event with me.
