Some 80 Junior Chess Players competed in this event. Director of Play was Dr Julian Painter ably assisted by Bob Pilgrim.
Time limit for each game was 7 minutes per player and the event was held over 7 rounds.
Swan Christian College performed very well winning all rounds. Their players showed good skills and gave a good team performance.
Wesley, Carmel and Christ Church as usual played well and competed strongly. Several schools entered more than 1 team indicating a renewed interest in Chess
