2017 WA Grand Prix

Report by David Ellis:

2017 WA Open winner in the Paul Meyer Awards was Andrew Hardegen with Patrick Gong runner-up and last year's winner Ihsan Ferozkohi third.

The Major was won by junior Sri Krishnan Dharmapuri with another junior newcomer Brent Geronimo 2nd and another newcomer David Barry third.

David Barry won the Minor with junior Sebastian Vearncombe second and Ian McAteer third.

Garry Donaldson from Albany again won the Country prize with Mick Nairn, also from the Albany district 2nd.

It was pleasing to see a healthy percentage of participants being juniors as well as the number of WA's leading players competing.

Points are awarded as follows: 1st 12 pts, 2nd 10 pts, 3rd 9 pts, ...., 8th 4 pts, 9th 3 pts, others 2 pts for participation.
