The 2025 Kingsley Open, the final classical tournament of the year, was held on the 18th & 19th of October 2025 at North Woodvale Primary School, attracting a total of 20 players.

Results

1st Place (Open): Ricky Huang - 5.0/6

2nd Place (Open): Stijn Verlinden - 4.5/6

Equal 3rd (Open): Jessie De Guzman, Nithuli Liyanage & Edidiong Amos - 4.0/6

1st Under 1500: Quang Minh Le - 4.0/6

Equal 2nd Under 1500: Elvan Rrasa, Badruun Nyamdorj, Luca Rotter, Daniel Luong - 3.0/6

Acknowledgements

Thanks to North Woodvale Primary School for providing the venue, and to the Perth Chess Club for assisting with facilities and venue access. Special appreciation also goes to Dylan Gough for directing the tournament as the Chief Arbiter, Dr Andrew Hardegen for reviewing and confirming all results, Paul Harris for IT support, and Kobe Wu for assisting with arbitering and pack-up duties.

Reminder

A few rounds saw forfeit byes due to late withdrawals or no-shows. Players are kindly reminded to notify the arbiter as soon as possible if they are unable to play a scheduled round - a simple courtesy that helps maintain fairness and good sportsmanship for all.
