The 2026 WA Junior Chess Championship was held at Leeming Primary School from Monday, 6 July, to Thursday, 9 July 2026.
This year, the event welcomed 140 individual players, with a total of 198 entries across the Main Championship, Blitz and Problem Solving competitions. Among the participants were 22 girls. This represented a significant increase from 2025, when 110 players submitted 152 entries, including 16 girls.
Congratulations to: Issa Majidi, the 2026 WA Junior Champion, and Nithuli Liyanage, the 2026 WA Junior Girls' Champion.
