The 2026 WA Rapid Chess Championship (6 rounds - 25 mins + 10 sec increment) was held on Sunday 22 March 2026 at Leeming Primary School, with 40 players participating across a broad range of ratings and age groups. The event was ACF & FIDE rated and officiated by Chief Arbiter Hui Lam Teh. Congratulations to the following State Rapid Champions for 2026: CM Ashvin Balavignan: 2026 State Rapid Champion (Note: Ashvin Balavignan & Victor Spirin both tied on 5 points for the Rapid Title. A playoff was held between them, and Ashvin won 2-0) Nithuli Liyanage: 2026 State Women's Rapid Champion Guy Booth: 2026 State Seniors' Rapid Champion (Note: Peter Wong, Luca Rotter & Guy Booth tied on 3 points for the Senior Rapid Title.
